Mindful Self Compassion

A moment of self-compassion can change your entire day. A string of such moments can change the course of your life. Chris Germer

Diana Thornton is also a trained teacher of mindful self-compassion and runs courses and workshops through Surrey Hills Mindfulness.

 

Mindful Self Compassion is taught as a 9 week group programme. It is not therapy in itself but is a powerful intervention for reducing harsh self-criticism and perfectionism; for working gently with shame and guilt and for learning ways to mitigate burn-out and overwhelm. The programme is supported by an increasing body of research which demonstrates its effectiveness in reducing anxiety and increasing overall well-being.
